SCA Introduction to Coffee – A Seed to Cup Journey
This half-day course is recommended for coffee professionals and enthusiasts interested in exploring the width and breadth of our favorite beverage’s seed to cup journey. We follow coffee from the farm where it is grown, through drying, grading, sorting, cupping, roasting, preparation, and finally drinking. We also look back at coffee’s history, from its origins in Ethiopia to the essential commodity it is today.
This course includes hands-on activities to introduce two important skill-sets for coffee professionals: cupping and brewing. It is strongly recommended as a prerequisite for all Coffee Skills Program courses.
