SCA Barista Intermediate - A Deeper Understanding of Espresso Preparation
This two-day comprehensive barista training course is recommended for experienced, currently-working baristas who are interested in increasing their skills and understanding of espresso and milk technique as well as cafe business aspects.
Attendees will explore the impact that coffee's growing and processing has on the sensory aspects of a brewed espresso. They'll practice dialing-in their espresso to achieve different flavors and critically taste their results. Hands-on activities help refine milk steaming techniques and introduce basic latte art. They'll practice effective station management and workflow approaches to prepare multiple-drink orders with high quality and speed. Customer service approaches, product cost calculation, and waste will also be discussed.
